"Listen," the unicorn seemed to say, "don't be afraid." And you were not. How could you be frightened by this serene creature? It was raw and pure, a timid beast, yet with so much power. Little did you know that not everything is what it seems.

Everyone knows the notorious Carson sisters. Beautiful but deadly, they will break any guy's heart they can get their hands upon. What will Orion do when he finds out that the youngest sister has her eyes set on him? Will he manage to make it out alive, or will his heart be broken too? --- "You didn't even tell me your name," I say, crossing my arms. She turns to face me, hair swinging, and meets me with her gaze. She looks like an angel, but the glint in her eyes tells me that she's the opposite. She smirks, gliding over to me again and stopping when her face is just inches away from mine. Like before, the proximity is a bit overwhelming. "The name's Queen," she says, her red-lipsticked smirk growing wider, "and I. Will. Rule. You." She pokes me on the chest for every syllable. And with another smirk, she dances away, leaving me a bit disoriented and confused. I'm starting to believe that she's right.

Cory, having just moved to Canada, expected nothing to turn out too bad. But she guessed wrong, and now she has more than a few problems that she has to deal with. Enter family drama, school, mean girls, a hat-stealing jerk, a new maybe-more-than-friend and a lot of confusion. Oh, and did I mention that when she found an object of fable that turned out to be not-so-fabled, she turned into a mermaid? Yeah, there's that too. All in all, Cory's certain that the year ahead will be quite an eventful one...

As they discover more kids with powers, they must band together to find out why they have powers, and face the storm of confusion, betrayal, drama and danger headed straight for them. Can they keep the balance, or will the scales tip?
