Everyone knows the rules of growing up. Once you're eighteen things become clearer, childhood problems melt away, and you're ready to go out and conquer the world. You're now an adult. You can look your parents in the eye as equals. Officially, you're on your own, and now you'll only look back fondly at what you once were, an immature child still learning about life. Or so you'd think. Jake is a young adult who grew up with the support of his family, especially his mother, Elaine. Though he experienced some rough patches as a child and fitting in was a constant challenge, she's been there for him. But it's time for Jake to "grow up" and for him, that means no longer needing his family. It turns out that life without them is a far greater struggle than he ever imagined. Living independently is hard, but admitting it is even harder. Join this true story of conflict and heart-pounding moments, as both mother and son explore the concept of parenting as a lifelong commitment.

(The Triumvirate Histories Book One) What do you get when you add thirty eighteen-year-old high school seniors and a two week trip to Paris? One sometimes boring, other times not trip of a lifetime. And when you add your roommates sneaking out and your guy best friend sneaking in to your room? A night of movies and junk food until finally passing out at three in the morning. Now, for a more exciting question, what do you get when you add together a drink thrown in your face, getting lost in the museum you're in as you come back from cleaning yourself up, and walking in on heist in progress? That's right. The kidnapping of Emmy Alexander, who just happened to be me. But when you hear about all of these kidnappings on the news, you expect the worst. Not mine, though. Mine included a secret society that the public, after learning about it a few years before, thought was now a modern myth, searching the globe and stealing back the pieces of a puzzle that we didn't know what information it would hold, and running from another secret society that was bound and determine to stop us no matter what. Oh, and you can't forget John Raymond, who just happened to be the one who kidnapped me. It was technically his fault I was in the middle of this, thrust into a world of secrets. I couldn't complain, though. And no matter what, John couldn't say we didn't make a great heisting team. But when that other secret society came into our crazy, messed-up equation, it added even more danger. But then again, I wanted a little adventure in my life, and I sure as heck got it.

“Love’s like a bullet. It’s fast. It’s furious. Sometimes you can’t see it coming. You can run from it. But you can’t dodge it. Unless someone stands in your way…” Growing up, Callie Tollson had always admired her older brother, Clay, for being exactly who he wanted to be…despite the consequences he faced doing so. With their roles reversed, Callie had always been the one to stand up for Clay when he was in harm’s way. She always thought this was enough. She thought she was able to protect him. That is until he turned the tables and unleashed harm back on those who had done it to him. She couldn’t understand why, being the one who stood up for him the most, she was the one he picked as the receiver for the final bullet in his gun. Now she’s the most feared girl in school with a haunting family tie to keep her stuck in the halls of Riverton High. As she tries to survive the rest of her junior year as the sister of the boy who brought a gun to school, she soon realizes she owes nothing to the boy who turned on her and everything to the boy who saved her life.

"We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin." - André Berthiaume. Unfortunately, when the Invisible Hand calls himself a super villain, he means it. He is totally, irrevocably, 100% evil. Even though he does stupid things to get a girl to laugh... Even though he took her to Iceland to see the Northern Lights... Even though he saved her life not once, but twice... He still dropped her off the Chrysler Building and left her to die. That girl was me. "Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires. The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see." - Shakespeare People make mistakes. People break rules. People even break the law. Sure, we aren’t perfect creatures but the thing about people is that we usually have pretty good reasons behind those bad decisions. And another thing about people is that they tend not to care about reasons as much as actions. Hallie Rhodes has found this out the hard way. No, she’s not proud of the decisions that she’s made that may have put her at odds with the law, but she had her reasons. Not that anybody cares about reasons. The way Hallie saw it, she had no choice except to forge the documents to get herself and her two younger brothers out of an abusive foster home. She has had a lot of tough breaks in her life. She’s only eighteen but she already has custody of her two younger brothers and to make ends meet, she’s taken on a full-time job along with balancing her senior year of high school. Strong, determined, and mature- Hallie is ready for whatever life throws at her. Except for Tate Conner, who is the exact opposite of Hallie. Lazy, entitled, immature, and cocky. Fresh out of reform school and on parole, he is the epitome of a bad influence, which is why Hallie is outraged when she notices that her younger brother is starting to befriend Tate. As they continuously but heads, Hallie starts to wonder just how put-together she really is.
