In a land unknown except for a few myths to almost everyone in the world, a land as diverse as the world itself, lives an important secret. The land's name is Quarante, and it is surrounded by a barrier that not only keeps them in, but everything else out. Though it is set in modern times, and the occasional thing from the modern world gets in, Quarante's barrier scrambles all signals and distorts electricity, so the land is stuck in its own unique era. The rules are bent and magic is everywhere in Quarante. Creatures viewed as mythical live here spread in communities throughout the island. The barrier has given this place its own climates. It's a world of its own in its own time, it seems. The inhabitants don't agree on much of anything, and often have confrontations. The majority are humans, but there are also large groups of different creatures. Welcome to the Bermuda Triangle. Welcome to the Isles of Quarentenam. Welcome to the Isles of Quarantine. Many times there are black and white lines, dividing the good and the bad, heroes and villains; such isn't always the case. Heroes getting arrested as villains; villains getting praise. The government is organized to keep the people safe and the secret of superhumanity secured. Vigilantes fight for what they view is right, which, whether it is technically right or wrong, they are to be arrested immediately, no questions asked. Gangs are the groups against the government in some way or another. They are like teams of vigilantes. Any members found by the government are to be arrested or killed immediately without question. It's super vs super, hero vs hero, villain vs villain, gang vs gang, government vs hero--civil war on a super level, all going on without being detected by humans. (This is actually a lot more like a cross between superheroes and secret agents than I make it sound like here, but I only have so much space to explain. More details inside.) (A ROLEPLAY)

One of Triumph Industries' groups of scientists broke the most important rule: never test on anyone but volunteers. How did they break this rule? They shot rays into the small island territory of Niuē, a tropical place in the middle of the pacific. Maybe they didn't like the $1 Pikachu coins. The ray shrunk anyone hit with it down to the size of an orange and, unbeknownst to the scientists, the victims gained powers or were turned into animal hybrids. Was your character an islander or a tourist? What power did they gain? How will they learn to control it? Will they survive the native fauna?

So, this is a roleplay. It's 2250 and the government has fallen. The residents of New Haven were thrown into robotic chaos. That's over and there are now four rival gangs left. The Cybeams, who all have laser shooting contacts and hoverboards, control the southern quarter and wear red, the Metaguns, who have a robotic gun glove on each of their arms, have an underground base on the east side of the city and wear yellow, the Streetflyers, who wear neon green, have shoes that allow them to run at faster speeds than normal people and race on walls on the west side, and the Skystreakers, who with wings of metal dominate the penthouses and skies of the northern quarter in electric blue. Secretly, these four groups all wish to end the fighting and form a new society within the city, but their leaders, for the most part, wish to keep up the feud and remain in power. But will the Rebels, who meet and plot against the norm to combine the gangs, be enough to stop the war? Or will the Renegades, who are against it all, win?
