Lukas Bondevik is a wizard, living in the human world. The humans accept him as one of their own, and he is considered the local healer. Even though they don't try to burn him at the stake, the humans are still wary of him. It's a lonely life, and soon Lukas longs for a companion of his own... that's when he meets Mathias. Mathias is a familiar (A creature that can shape shift from human to animal, yet usually identifies as human) and the two become closely bonded just by locking eyes when they first meet.

He had always hurt himself after his parents death, thinking he was the cause of it. His fault. On a very unfortunate stroll through the city, he runs into the mafia. He was going to die, he thinks. That is, until he meets one of them, with those amber eyes that always seemed to burn a fire. This was was their story.
