It all started with a note. A little note written on a ripped peace of notebook paper that said 'Hi'. Phil just moved into town and on his first day of school he gets introduced to Dan. Dan doesn't speak and only communicates to people threw written words. Dan can speak, perfectly capable of it, but he doesn't. One day Dan stopped speaking and no one knows why. Phil becomes very interested in Dan and decides to do whatever it takes to find out why Dan doesn't speak.

It all began with a kiss, with Alex, my best friend, my band mate, which got me thinking, am I gay? The audience was yelling now. "Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!" They chanted. I blinked, confused. "What?" Alex asked a fan. "Okay" he murmured and made his way over to me. I raised at eyebrow but he didn't say anything. He grabbed my face and softly pecked me on the lips. Dumbfounded I just stood there. "Alright!" Alex picked up the mic skillfully. "This ones called weightless. Hit it!" The drums kicked in and I played as alex pranced around on stage. After that show, fans ordered us to kiss at every venue we performed at. Became a regular thing I guess. I just wished the kisses would last longer... So I admit. I'd lost count of how many people had gaped at my arm with shocked expressions and open mouths, curious voices unsure of whether or not they wanted to know the answer asking, "Did you cut your arm?" By third period, I'd gotten so fucking sick of repeating the same excuse that my sarcastic asshole side had leaked out. So, I'd been responding to my classmates appalled questions with something along the lines of, "Yes, I cut myself." There was a kind of sick humor to it - technically, I was telling the truth. Dan is a patient in a mental hospital. He doesn't understand why he is there and doesn't remember any of the events that he has done. His everyday boring life in the hospital changes when a new patient comes in.
