Set in a boarding school for the gifted, Lizzy Demarchelier and Castiel Speer are assigned to make a compilation report about the word 'young'. Lizzy, seventeen and ranked number two in the school, is studious, uptight and had never done anything reckless. She's never found the need to, or the want, and is contented with graduating and going to uni with a clean record. Castiel, also seventeen and ranked number one in the school, never follows the rules and does what he likes while still being on top. With Castiel as her guide in the wild side, Lizzy keeps him grounded. Together, they might just discover that the truth about being young is more than wasting your life away on cigarettes and that the prospect of love is just beside them, waiting for a nudge to happen.

Just as Halloween rounds the corner, high school senior Kamryn Branche decides to attend the school Halloween dance. At the dance that night, something happens that she feels is normal at first, and then changes her life for the worse. Unnatural things start to happen to her and they start to weaken her slowly. However, someone tries to help Kamryn, a boy named Chase, and this boy turns out to know more about things than Kamryn herself.
