There is a reason that it's called The Legend of Zelda and not The Legend of Link. And it's not because Zelda is the princess. In fact, the story is all wrong. They changed it because they weren't sure if the public could handle the true story of Hyrule. But I think you can. Who am I? I am simply known as the narrator. And this is the story of love...

Deep in the southernmost region of the kingdom known widely as Hyrule, there lies a village by the name of Ordon. Among the villagers is a young boy who is known as the most skillful rider in all the land. A boy who, it is expected, will one day take over the responsibility of leading Ordon as the village chief. His name is Link... He is trusted and liked by all villagers, Link is especially loved by the other children of Ordon. Link spends his days as a ranch hand and learns the way of the sword from the villages lone swordsman, Rusl, in his spare time. He often shows the children his newly honed skills which makes him even more popular. One day Link is requested to go to Hyrule castle and give the princess of Hyrule, Zelda, a gift from Ordon.
