Pearl works at a small coffee shop in a small town. Nothing particularly interesting happens until a new girl shows up. She's called Amethyst. Pearl immediately likes her. She's a likable person, with her good-natured humor. Amethyst suggests a date and Pearl isn't sure how to respond.

Amethyst finally tries to get together with Pearl when she finds out Pearl had never thought of dating her in the first place. Soon Pearl wants to get with Amethyst, but all the love is suddenly cut off when another gem war is at stake.
