The magnificent first season of the TV series "Victoria," written by Daisy Goodwin and produced by ITV and PBS for Masterpiece, has brought its characters so vibrantly to life that I have been inspired to write my first fan fiction. I hope Masterpiece Producer Rebecca Eaton has noticed how many fans want to imagine that the relationship between Queen Victoria and Lord Melbourne had turned out differently. Maybe if all of us fans clamor loudly enough, PBS would think about producing another show, using some of the same actors, sets and wardrobe, in which our wishes could be fulfilled. To see Jenna Coleman and Rufus Sewell act out something like my teleplay would be such a thrill, while we're waiting for Season 2 of "Victoria." My teleplay would begin immediately following Victoria's line, "I think you have it already," in S1:E3, "Brocket Hall." (I think all my fellow Melbourne fans will know exactly when and where that is, without my explaining further.) Being forced into hiding by pretending to be seventeen year old student at Hogwarts was no fun either, especially considering the tall-dark-and-mysterious potions teacher that kept sticking his nose where it didn't belong. Now, not only did she meet her SoulMate, who turned out not to love her back, she also lost their child. Broken and unable to overcome her grief, Aurora decides to embark on a journey that's about as much about moving on as it is about extracting revenge. But fate, just like death, has a way of catching up with you, and as Aurora confronts her ghosts, both from her past and present, there's only one person who can truly safe her-even from herself.

Aurora Beauchanan is many things, and apparently being a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is about to be added to that list. With quite a few secrets that are better left untold, and befriending not only Harry, but the Weasley's and their friends as well, her whole life is about to be turned upside down, even more so when she meets the enigmatic Potions Professor, Severus Snape...And as Severus tries to unravel the mysterious personality of the young witch that seems unphased by his ill tempered and harsh disposition, he can't help but be curious about the unabashed and defiant Gryffindor who seems to present more trouble than she is worth. With a spirited character and an attitude to match, Aurora finds that blending in and keeping a low profile don't exactly make for an easy life, especially with the Triwizard Tournament around the corner. When nothing is as it seems, how is she supposed to distinguish between what's real and what isn't? Say....feelings about a certain potions professor that she can't seem to stay away from? As the secrets and mysteries pile up around her while her past threatens to expose itself, Aurora will have to overcome insurmountable odds and decide who she can trust as her life hangs in the balance. After all, sometimes things aren't about doing the right thing, but doing what needs to be done. This story takes place during the events of The Goblet of Fire. Soulmate AU with a bit of a twist, since happy endings don't necessarily last forever. Note: This is a rough draft, and the first round of editing changed the POV from first to third person.
