When Avalie Daniels moved to New York City, she was nothing but a slightly old-fashioned girl with a knack for technology. She had a job, a best friend, a new apartment. And, once she moved in, she learned that she had a new handsome neighbor as well. Everything was perfect, just as she had always planned. But one night, when the sound of gunfire pulls her from her sleep, she realizes that things aren't as perfect as she had believed. Her neighbor is more than Steve Rogers--he is Captain America. And as it turns out, she is more than Avalie Daniels--she is Hydra's next target. In a crazy sequence of events, Avalie learns that maybe there's more to her old soul than she had thought.

What would happen if Steve Rogers moved in across the hall? Anne is about to find out. ---- Begins after Steve defrosts but before the events in 'Avengers'. This is in an AU where Steve's identity was kept secret from the public. Which makes sense as he was a part of a top secret government experiment. It's also more convenient for my plot. So, there you go. I'm rubbish at descriptions. Also, I own none of the good characters, those all belong to Marvel. I do, however claim ownership on my plot and main character, as dinky as they may be.

"My hands are stained with dirt. And they always will be." ~ Lillian Nightshade; assassin, Captain America's girlfriend, and number one magnet for bullsh*t and bad luck. For her entire life, she's been told what to, who to kill, who she is, and what she's meant to be. And now? Thanks to her history of daddy issues that could rival Shellhead's, she finds herself kidnapped by father of the year Loki Laufeyson and held hostage in a realm far from her favourite boy toy's reach. Asgard. Struggling with her own sense of identity whilst simultaneously trying to escape the clutches of a god with fabulously glorious hair, by the time Lillian finds herself returning to the world she knows, she begins to notice a suspicious amount of change within it. HYDRA apparently died with the Red Skull, SHIELD hasn't fallen, the battle of Braga never went down, and Steve Rogers doesn't seem to remember her. It's almost as if she's... Gone back in time? Between balancing the timeline, trying not to spoil the future, righting wrongs committed the first time around and dealing with a butt tonne of family drama, Lillian simply can't catch a break from all the bad luck she attracts. Throw a familiar metal armed World War II soldier turned HYDRA weapon into the mix, and the Nightingale might just be in over her head. In spite of it all, will the two complete opposites, Steve and Lillian, find their way to each other's lives once again? Or is their romance lost, a faded memory stored away for rainy days? For she may have their love to light the way, but where there is light, there will always be its older sibling. Darkness. BOOK TWO OF THE NIGHTINGALE CHRONICLES **I obviously don't own any Marvel or comic characters. I only half of the plot, Lillian Nightshade, Samuel Hemmings and a few other characters that appear later on in the book. All other rights are reserved to Marvel and DC comics.**

*Taking place after Captain America: Winter Soldier.* Agent Griffin is a freakishly cold individual. She is a former spy to SHIELD. Amazingly she hasn't met any of the avengers, until she meets Steve Rogers. She has been trained for this very moment to help and assist who she is ordered to remain with. Her mission, to be the assistant of Captain America. To keep a watchful eye on him and to reassure him when needed. But the mission they face together could be life changing. *Disclamer- I do not own any of the Marvel characters. This is strictly fan fiction. Captain America just happens to be my favorite superhero. I do not take credit for any characters other than my own. The character I did created is Victoria Griffin.* This story is not complete and I apologize for any grammatical errors. Some of the content may change slightly as I go back through and correct after completion. I may add to some chapters as I see fit.
