The day started out normal for the seventeen year old mermaid, Ariel. She woke up early and went out for a swim with her five merfriends. The day went quickly down hill when two divers show up and captured Ariel. They intend to study her and her kind. She can't find a way out, until a human teen named Drake breaks into the scientists lab late in the night and takes Ariel back out to the sea. When she comes back to help him escape from the wrath of the scientists, she ends up taking him to her world. As they spend time together, Ariel develops feelings for the human who saved her.
