The story focuses on the romance between Bai Fengjiu and Donghua Dijun, and begins on the day of her coronation, which is a slight departure from The Pillow Book and TMOPB TV adaptation. The Pillow Book written by Tang Qi Gong Zi, is the second book in the Three Lives Three Worlds series. The Books describe the love story between the nine-tailed fox queen of Qing Qiu (Green Hills), Bai Feng Jiu and the first ruler of Heaven Dong Hua Di Jin, spanning across three different lives in three different worlds.
