Basil, a sixteen year old girl who was dumped with her grandparents after her birth, lives the normal life of a small town girl. That is, until her seventeenth birthday. Basil's mother shows up unexpectedly, proclaiming things that Basil can't even begin to understand, except that she is special. Very special. She learns about a man named Chronus, the God of Time, and that she and only she can destroy him. She also learns that she has the ability to control time. However, they soon learn that things are much more serious than they originally thought they were. It's said that time heals all wounds, but what happens when time is just a mere part of your existence.

Kara and Paige, recent graduates, have been planning to escape since they were 12. Now that the trip they have fantasized about for five years is finally here, they get to see what the world has in case for them and what they have been missing out on their whole lives.
