"The Red Shoes" is a book about a young teenage girl, Melissa, who is growing up in the 1960's. After an incident at her school she is forced to be bedridden. After she sneaks out she runs into her child hood friend, Henry, also known as the paper boy. After a night together her parents see him and identify him as the boy with the red shoes. Melissa is beaten at home and left there alone. Henry discovers her and comes up with an idea. To run away. Melissa starts to have feelings for Henry and vis versa. What will happen? Follow through her life in her view and notice how life was different then. I've done research and it took a ridiculous amount of time to know everything to write about this 1960's setting.
