Sakura was always a curious pup, chasing after foreign insects and the migrating birds heading south each fall. She 's constantly had the same dream, over and over, for three moons now. When the gods of her pack become one with their hosts, Sakura knows something is wrong. Sythvenos, goddess of wisdom and nature, guides Sakura to a university that was built in the ruins of most of the forest Sakura calls home. Over time, she grows both curious and fond of the human beings taking up residence on the campus. Namely one human in particular... Steven never had much of a family. He was kicked out of the foster system at eighteen, and he thought that Shruikani University would be a good place for a new start. Man, was he wrong. Crushed, beaten, spat upon, and left to rot: Steven was bullied since he arrived at the college. He's constantly considered a member of the "nerds"; being untalkative, unsocialable, and having watched every episode of every good sci-fi show ever doesn't really come across as a positive thing at this school. So he just sits by the gated fence encircling the campus, constantly drawing in his sketchbook between classes. Then Sakura came. To Steven she was the most beautiful wolfess he'd ever seen, and he drew her frequently during her visits to the fence where he sat. Then a new girl came to the school, and despite the fact that all the other boys seem to flock to her presence, she actually paid attention to Steven. He stopped going to his spot by the fence, curious about this new student who arrived the day before school began. The girl with the eyes of a wolf.

Six teens are devoted to a game with one rule: If a player gets tagged, they must change their life within the next fifteen minutes. The better the player, the bigger the change. One might give their car away, or punch the school bully. Another might change identities or sacrifice their virginity. Anything to keep evolving, to avoid fitting into a label or caring about the junk they own. But their quest for enlightenment has taken a rotten final turn - one of the players has murdered the game's creator, the teen prophet (cult leader?) David Bloom. Our narrator is being framed for the crime; can he clear his name and discover which of his lifelong friends is the murderer before he takes the fall? [sic] is a gritty teen murder mystery that delves into the psychology of enlightenment among the criminally dysfunctional.
