Valerie: Female given name derived from the Latin, valēre, to be strong. *** Valerie's not afraid of anything. Her best friend Stevie worries about everything. A flipped Jeep the Saturday before senior year might just change all that. When Valerie flips her cool Jeep Wrangler, her parents insist she drive the household's semi-retired 1996 Dodge Ram Conversion as punishment. But what is and isn't punishment is a matter of perspective. To golden girl Valerie, the van is no big deal. To self-conscious Stevie, it's social suicide. After all, high school is already hard enough for a Riverdance-fan-girl who can't even make eye contact with her biggest crush, blond band-geek Jesse. Determined to prove that the world isn't as awful as Stevie assumes it is, Valerie designs a pact. Each girl must perform five 'feats of courage' that range from the absurd to the daring to the legally-murky. This quirky game of dares may bring Stevie some confidence, but it also brings to light some big secrets, including one Valerie would rather have kept hidden. Senior year's going to be a bumpy ride. Valerie and Stevie will need a little more than a few feats of courage, a blond drummer boy, and a traveling Irish stage show.

Boy meets girl, girl falls in love, blah-blah-blah. Let me be clear with you from the beginning. This is not that kind of story. My name is Cait, and I live in the great city of New York. Okay, so maybe I've only lived here for a week and a half, sue me, but what else am I supposed to say? This strange and beautiful metropolis is my new home, or the closest thing I've probably ever had to a home, and I intend to make the most of my time here. I'm 20 years old, an ex-sophomore in college, and I'm really good at math. Obviously, I've never filled out any kind of bio before. This is my story. It's the kind of story where reality bites, love isn't always what it seems, and maybe - just maybe - everything won't suck in the end. #43 in General Fiction - 12/02/2016 #44 in Teen Fiction - 6/11/2017 _____ © Jandra Sutton. 2016. Peyton has had a rough go of things. A distant father, a drunk mother. The usual sort of sob story. When Peyton finds out that her dad is getting remarried and that she's going to have to take a road trip across the country with her brother and her boyfriend to be there on his wedding day, she thinks that things couldn't possibly get any worse. Until her boyfriend cheats on her a few weeks before their departure date with none other than her best friend. The sob story continues. Now, Peyton is forced to travel across America with a foreign stranger, her grumpy brother, his very un-grumpy girlfriend, and a dog who's just trying his best. She's convinced that this will be the worst summer of her life but if it were that depressing, there wouldn't be a story written about it. Things take a twist for the better... and then for the worst... and for the better again (basically, it's a very twisty ride) as she finds ways to make this road trip memorable for everybody.

[Highest rank #2 in Action 19/09/17] [Highest rank #20 in Adventure 09/02/18] This book is currently on hold but you are more than welcome to read what is up already. Unedited/ First Draft ----------------------------------- My name is Lillian Kelly and I'm seventeen. I'm that girl that nobody ever notices, who just goes through the school year as a shadow lurking in the background. I'm classified as the school's nerd with my black thick rimmed glasses, my high grades and my style of clothes that consists of T-shirts, jeans, an oversized hoodie and my beat up converse. I get bullied but the thing is I can stop it but at the same time I can't otherwise I might blow my cover. The cover I have held for a year already but you know things don't always go to plan like how was I supposed to know that the three most popular boys in school would want to hang out with a 'nerd' like me but I guess miracles happen, I just wish that this particular miracle would have happened to someone other than me. My job was simple. 1. Blend into the background. 2. Don't draw attention to yourself 3. Don't reveal you true identity. 4. Don't die during the process. While I have already failed one and two and I have come close to four. Let's just hope that I don't break number three otherwise all hell will break loose. People will die and I will be the reason why and I refuse to let that happen not now or ever.
