Spoken word poetry is poetry that has to be said aloud to make sense... Although I prefer to say it's colloquial poetry that's easy for the reader to understand... They don't have to unjangle chains of metaphors or heaps of similes... It's just the writer, speaking to the reader, and explaining their story...
I want to go home. Where is home? I want to go home. And it kills me to think that this is it.
