Raven Zheng is definitely not crazy. At least - that's what she tells herself. It's hard to believe that when no one else can see what you see. You see, Raven can see the dead. Ghosts, if you will. They're people who died, just looking for closure and a way to move on from this life. When Raven meets Cade Woods, she's surprised to find a person who understand what she's going through, at least a little bit. He doesn't see the dead, per se, but he's seen enough death in his life to see her point of view. And then the first body is found. Soon enough, Raven is catapulted into Cade's world. There seems to be a serial killer in town, one who has connections to Cade and his father that makes him a suspect in the murders, and Raven has no way to know whether or not he can be trusted at all, given his past and his suspicious parentage. But as the body count climbs, Raven and Cade realize that they might be the only ones with the knowledge to stop the killer, even if they have to embrace their past to do it.

One thing I'll always remember is my parents saying "Everyone has a story" "Everyone has a story with a past, tragic or not. Everyone has a story that is meant to go unjudged, even if it was never told" But sometimes we forget that. Like when I though that my guardian was the devil. Even though he taught me how to laugh, how to protect, and even possible how to love. I only asked one thing "Why?" I still remember the one phrase that changed my life"Let me carry her" This one single and normal phrase was said by none other than Cooper Kingsley, our school's and town's bad boy. He was the championship boxer who drove a motorcycle and got into trouble frequently. He's the guy with brown hair that looked soft enough to run my fingers through, the guy with irresistible cold blue eyes and the guy with a built and strong body that made girls crazy. He wasn't your typical player either; no he was just hard to get- A complete tease. And the fact that he would volunteer to help a girl like this, was not normal. So what did Cooper Kingsley want anything to do with the bland and boring me? I was completely and utterly average. Or so I thought. So why did the devil suddenly become my guardian? Let's find out. Pental Pal (noun) - one who exchanges letters to one another as pen pals. But uses the same writing utensil, in this case, a pentel pencil. They never wanted to do this from the start. The thought of writing to a complete stranger. Never seeing whose handwriting is in the letter you're reading. Someone who could be miles, maybe even oceans away from you. And all you get is a picture and a name. To Lizzabeth Teschler, this is extra credit. Even though she doesn't want to do this, she had to. But she's doing this for extra credit so she can still maintain her title of having the highest GPA record. Then she could finish the rest of high school and go off to college. Her whole life is all planned out for her, and she can't do anything to change it. There's a future for her, but not the one she wants. To William Patier, it's cruel torture. He had to do this against his will. This is his last chance before he gets shipped off to military school. Nothing but waking up at dawn, eating disgusting food, and not have a single girl in sight every day. After he graduates from school, who knows where he'll find himself. There's no future for him, not like there's any way to change it. So two complete opposites from different worlds are forced to write each other for a whole year. Add that with some arguments, secrets, two pentel pencils, some cookie butter, a Green Day album, an origami heart, some coffee from Starbucks, two teachers dating, Eddie Anderson, a rival and a cheater. With all that bundled up, who knows what will happen? But at least they don't know each other... right?

Liv Chase might've seemed like any normal fifteen year old, well that is until you learn that she's a foster kid who's been able to read minds all her life. Only Liv's best friend Bella and her father know about Liv's gift. It's not something you'd want to flaunt around like it's a medal unless you yearn to be shipped to the looney bin. But when a mysterious new kid moves to town that Liv can't read, she is shocked an intrigued at the same time. But despite all her attempts to get close to him after a strange first encounter, he seems insistent to push her away. Soon Liv learns that there just might be more strange people like her out there and there just might be a secret ancient society out for her head. Maybe there was a reason curiosity killed the cat after all.
