Jade and Carl Grimes are struggling to survive the zombie apocalypse after being abandoned and left to die. They are accompanied by their good friend Alexis Wakefield. Jade struggles with all of the aftermath of the catastrophe, and Carl is expected to pick up the pieces.

'Stay indoors. If you have to go out, bring a wepon and aim for the head on the monsters. Help is on the was. Repeat, help is on the way' The radio kept repeating the same thing over, and over. 'Ugh, why can't this be a dream? Am I deaming?' These are the first few paragraphs. Remember this IS a walking dead fanfiction and people will die. Jes is a sarcastic 14 year old girl living in the middle if the apocalypse. She was on her own for 6 months, barely finding enough food to stay alive. She was out one day gathering supplies when she meets, Carl Grimes. It wasn't exactly what you would call "love at first sight." Jes learns to trust and love her new group more than anything. She will do whatever it takes to protect them, especially Carl.
