" I say slowly. He looks up curiously. " What is it Katniss? " he asks looking into my eyes. I feel immediately guilty for what I am about to say, especially since he saved my life by giving me bread. "So I have been thinking this over in my head and it seems that this is the only choice I have in order to make it home to Prim." I start. "Katniss?..." He says. He doesn't like what I am saying and I haven't even gotten to the worst part yet. "I know you want to make it back home to your family and I know that you are a part of my District, but I need to make it home to Prim!" I say, tears threatening to fall, I feel awful for what I am doing. Peeta looked extremely worried by this point. "What's wrong? What happened- " I cut him off " I'm... I'm... joining...the careers."

The book takes place after the first games and Katniss is left depressed. She doesn't know who to choose and she's caught up with the chaos of the Capitol. She has to choose who she loves... Before they disappear.

Katniss had Farrah Mellark after arriving in District 13. When Peeta returns after a decade of war, things go wrong. Farrah will have to choose who to trust-- Her family or The Capitol.
