Four unmarked survivors. One totalitarian government. A fight to keep their humanity intact. 100 years into the future, the E-91 virus has thrust the world into chaos. For Rachel Wilson, survival hasn't come easy. For the last fifteen years, she's lived in the wilderness, just out of reach of the Council of Nations. Until one day, poachers--the section of law enforcement tasked with hunting the Unmarked--raid her home and she is forced to go on the run. Weary from the attack, but certainly not broken, she ventures into a dangerous world with only her fiery determination to survive. In what appears to be a stroke of good luck, she is rescued by an underground movement working towards bringing down the capital or die trying. Death over mark, that had always been the mantra. Because the alternative-becoming a mind-controlled soldier to fight the capital's war-was a fate worse than death. ***What other readers are saying about Marked*** "You've done a wonderful job of creating and molding this couple into real people. Now, they practically breathe!" -thebirdwhisperer "This is incredible! I was holding my breath for a second there because everything was so good and the action felt so rea!!!" -titanic123 "I rarely comment as I'm not very good with words. But I have to tell you I enjoyed your book so much. I cried and laughed, bit my nails and rooted the characters on as if they were my family." -leenafrog

What makes a 'good' person? Better yet, what makes a 'good' vampire? Riley used to be a good person, studied medicine at a young age and vowed to help as many people as he could. He was the golden boy of the Renaissance era, the 'light' among many dark days. Riley was meant for something better, until he stumbled upon Likhiam. "If there was an award for self control, I'd be a gold medalist. Self control is my greatest strength. It wasn't always the case though. I used to be the impending predator. I was death, personified, the oncoming storm. Yet, my conscious caught up to me, after a couple years of terrorizing the streets. Once I realized everything I had done, I tried to kill myself. Time after time, I tried, but it never worked. Nothing ever worked. It wasn't until 'the accident' that I quit trying to kill myself, I realized that my blood could save people. And so I've spent almost 400 years doing just that." He is a 'God' among men, and has spent his whole existence trying to fix all the wrong he has put out into the world. He has avoided the people most who want him dead and managed to save as many people as he could. But, could this large platform, he has worked so hard to stay on, be brought down by the chance meeting of one strange girl? As Riley says, 'I help people, it's what I do.' Even when that 'person' is your own magically built predator.

Excerpt The highly anticipated start of a new romantic suspense series from the beloved, USA Today bestselling author of Ten Tiny Breaths. Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him? Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried. The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface. A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love has conditions: they agree it will last only one hour, and it will be only make-believe. When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them seemed perfect only because they were pretending it was. Moments like that happen only in fairy tales. One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in love-at-first-sight is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Unfortunately for Daniel, finding true love doesn’t guarantee a happily ever after . . . it only further threatens it. Will an unbearable secret from the past jeopardize Daniel and Six’s only chance at saving each other?
