What makes a 'good' person? Better yet, what makes a 'good' vampire? Riley used to be a good person, studied medicine at a young age and vowed to help as many people as he could. He was the golden boy of the Renaissance era, the 'light' among many dark days. Riley was meant for something better, until he stumbled upon Likhiam.
"If there was an award for self control, I'd be a gold medalist. Self control is my greatest strength. It wasn't always the case though. I used to be the impending predator. I was death, personified, the oncoming storm. Yet, my conscious caught up to me, after a couple years of terrorizing the streets. Once I realized everything I had done, I tried to kill myself. Time after time, I tried, but it never worked. Nothing ever worked. It wasn't until 'the accident' that I quit trying to kill myself, I realized that my blood could save people. And so I've spent almost 400 years doing just that."
He is a 'God' among men, and has spent his whole existence trying to fix all the wrong he has put out into the world. He has avoided the people most who want him dead and managed to save as many people as he could. But, could this large platform, he has worked so hard to stay on, be brought down by the chance meeting of one strange girl? As Riley says, 'I help people, it's what I do.' Even when that 'person' is your own magically built predator.
