Toxixity
"Envision you're stuck in a basement, hands zip tied behind you in this exact position", Her Fathers sleep-ridden eyes dart to his daughter sprawled onto the ground. "What do you do?"
Dani's rolls her eyes and grunts in frustration and pain to the familiar feel of zip ties digging into her wrists, unable to move her hands even slightly away from her rear end.
Her small figure of age 14 has experienced the same demonstration with practice, along with other self-defence practices. She fumbles with her limb body and climbs onto her knees.
'Just like when you've practiced this a million times', she mumbles to herself. With ease, she bends forward, her arms rising behind her and hands balled into fists. Dani then aggressively slams her arms down, allowing her wrists to hit her bottom and simultaneously straightens upright. The zip ties give out and break, allowing her hands to move freely.
She stands, massaging her wrists to rid them of pain, although the tinge of red stains her skin.
This was only a glimpse of what Daniella Garcia's childhood consisted of, along with learning how to throw knives with precision at a dart board, learning how to shoot and aim a pistol or rifle, learning how to escape situations that are deemed impossible to escape.
"Why am I learning how to do this? When will I use this skill?", she persistently pestered her Father with questions.
Each time she received the same response. "Preparation".

Destiny is a fictional novel about the crimes of the Mafioso (Italian for mafia). It follows Daniella on the journey to discover her destiny of finding out who she really is, her desires, as as cliché as it sounds, her destined love.
