When Rena meets Brent, he is a dream come true. He is a real gentleman, funny, caring and even her overly protective father likes him. But then, she discovers a different side of Brent - a violent side that scares her. Promising that this had been a one time slip up, she forgives him. After all, he is the love of her life. She dosn't see the signs -- the controlling, the alienation from her friends and dad, the obsession he has with her. She is like putty in his hands. Over time, she learns about the Cycle of Abuse the hard way and she even tries to break free. But in the end, she only sees one way out and it will likely cost her everything. Best Ranking: #2 in ChickLit Winner of the 1st Corner Booth contest Authors Note: This is a story about domestic violence and can be disturbing at times. Even though the people in this book are fictional, abuse at the hands of a loved one is real. It is something that can happen to any of us, even to teenagers like Rena. Please do not read this book if you find this topic disturbing. It is not designed to upset anyone but to raise awareness. [COMPLETE ✓] Rumour has it that a new guy is joining our class this year. All the girls are going crazy, imagining all the case scenarios from cliché YA books: mysterious, rebel, bad boy, werewolf, fallen angel, even vampire! The worst part, I don't even think they have read the books; they only watched the films. However, it doesn't make much difference to me, it's not like he is going to see me. No one sees me. Oh but don't worry, I got used to this and I learnt to enjoy it. Believe me, being unseen has its perks. I'll show you. ⋙⋘ Illustrator: Sarah Bochaton

I've always been a different kind of girl. That girl whose best friends were books but never kids her age, and who was too smart for her own sake but who would never let some step on her. My father is a dreamer, someone who aims too high and I love him very dearly, but sometimes he gets himself in problems... and drags me along the way. I lost my mother when I was barely a teenager but she taught me many things. She always called me her little beauty, saying I was the most beautiful girl she had ever seen, telling me how much I reminded her of that princess in The Beauty and The Beast. Her favourite fairy tale yet my least favourite one. I never thought I was going to have to deal with a beast, a total jerk for my father's sake. Karma got me because here I am, in the middle of a pretty similar situation to my least favourite fairy tale. But I'm not only the beauty to this beast, I'm more than that. I'm brave, I'm bold... I'm Belle. -:-:- BOOK #3 in the Aware Princess Series flower: Amaryllis, it symbolises "pride."

WHEN AN UNLIKELY SUITOR.... The Earl of Stokeford is hardly a man of amiable disposition and social graces. He scowls whenever he pleases, becomes rude at any time convenient for him, and worse, has a regrettable tendency to scare ladies out of their wits. Except, of course, the hapless peer knows nothing in the matters of romance...until he receives help from an unlikely quarter. MEETS AN EAGER MATCHMAKER Then enter Miss Winscott's cousin, the vivacious Caroline Davis, who oddly gets along well with the slightly waspish Earl.
