Writing help from an English/Creative Writing major. This is practically a free writing class. It's full of useful writing tips and tricks that I've picked up in my writing career/common mistakes found while editing others' work. I hope you can find use out of this. I add to it every time I think of something else that beginners would find useful. These are in no particular order, so feel free to refer to the Table of Contents to skip to a topic that you're interested in. **I am currently working on rewriting and editing this into a real book, which I'll publish on Amazon** PS: I am rarely ever on Wattpad, so if you message me, I'm very unlikely to answer. I'm not ignoring you; I'm just not on here anymore. Please vote for this so more people will see it and be able to use this! Also, if you have any questions about writing, comment or message me and I'll help. I'll also add chapters at your request. If there's a particular aspect of writing you'd like advice on, I'll post it. It's marked as completed, but I add to it when I think of something else. "YOUR BOOK HELPED ME A LOT!!! THIS IS THE BEST BOOK FOR NEW WRITERS THAT I HAVE ENCOUNTERED ON WATTPAD" -dpe281 "This helps so much!! ^^ thank you thank you thank you!!" -Just_Katyftw "this was so useful thank you!" -Galaxysfaraway "That's so helpful! Thank you! :) " -fandomsmember Best Rating Yet: #2 in non-fiction!

There are hundreds of fantastic books about writing for hopeful authors to choose from, but most of them are boring, complicated, and bogged down by filler. This little book is brief, straight forward, and easy to understand. I hope it will serve as an easy-to-read manual to help serious writers perfect their craft. I should say right off the bat that I am NOT an expert; I forget my own tips all the time! However, I do know what generally works for me, so I thought I could pass it on to my friends at Wattpad. One last note: this book is for writers who have a basic understanding of grammar and story structure. If you’re interested in more fundamental steps you can take to write a great story, check out the companion to this book!

I managed to get to #1 on Wattpad for Fantasy as well as Adventure in a month and a half. After four months, I had 1 Million reads and a year later I had 5 million. I worked really hard and have been very lucky, but I'm sure that following these simple rules helped a lot!

Fanfiction from Sherlock Holmes to Fifty Shades of Grey and Beyond . . . What is fanfiction, and what is it not? Why does fanfiction matter? And what makes it so important to the future of literature? Fic is a groundbreaking exploration of the history and culture of fan writing and what it means for the way we think about reading, writing, and authorship. It's a story about literature, community, and technology-about what stories are being told, who's telling them, how, and why. With provocative discussions from both professional and fan writers, on subjects from Star Trek to The X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Harry Potter, Twilight, and beyond, Fic sheds light on the widely misunderstood world(s) of fanfiction-not only how fanfiction is transforming the literary landscape, but how it already has. It is often said that writing is a skill that is never truly mastered. This is a fact. We learn and grow each and every day in our writing. Maybe it is a tip we read, a word we learned, a video we saw, or just simply a critique we received that helps us grow that day but we learned something and will in some way apply it to our writing. This book is my way of putting the tips and prompts I have left on my profile page in one place. I will add more as well. Enjoy! Happy Writing!
