He visits his mother only to find her dead with Paul and his three year old sister on the floor . He had lost everything . So of course, the complete opposite happens. When the Fates (whom Percy decided had something against his happiness) cast yet another evil grandfather into Percy's way, Percy is thrown into a world of witchcraft and wizardry, not to mention deceit and betrayal. Because really, what else can you expect when your grandfather is Voldemort?

The Heroes of Olympus have a few problems to figure out amongst themselves, and they so don't need the added nuisance of dealing with the Asgardian god of Mischief and Lies. But since when have the Fates made their lives easy? And, of course, how boring would this world be if the gods never messed up? And trust me - they messed up big-time.
