I woke up with a gasp. I looked over to the window. It was night. I groaned and sat up. "Really, Damien? You could've woken me up!" No one answered. I scowled and got off the bed. At least I'm still in my clothes. "Damien? Hello?" I walked over to the window, looking at the scenery. All of the city lights were on. They were actually pretty in the dark. I turned around to look at the bed, and my jaw dropped. I was still on the bed. I was watching myself sleep. I watched closer. No, I wasn't asleep. I wasn't moving. I wasn't breathing. I drew in a deep breath, trying to calm down. Okay, try to remember what last happened. You fell asleep when Damien was holding you, so then what? I heard a sound in the bathroom, and I jumped. The door was open, and the lights were on, so I managed to get myself to move toward the bathroom. Inside, Damien was at the sink. It looked like he was washing out his mouth. "Um, Damien? Why can I see my body on the bed?" He didn't acknowledge me at all. With a sinking heart, I realized that he was cleaning something red out of his mouth. Blood red. "What...." I backed out of the doorway. There's no way. Am I dead? That's impossible.... I slipped on nothing from my panic and fell on my butt. I held back a cry. I started to shake. "Why is this happening? Is this really happening? Or is this just a dream?" "It's not a dream." Lenore Walker was simple. Just a teenage girl that hated everything. She hated people, hated high school, hated life.
