It wasn't my fault. It really wasn't. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I could never un-see what I saw. It was this instant I closed my eyes and prayed for my mom to hold me again; I wanted to hear her voice soothing my beating my heart; telling me everything was going to be okay when even she knew it wouldn't be. I wanted to hear my dad out back in his shed, whistling the melody to Elton John while he sawed away a block of wood. Any trace of my sister had disappeared into thin air, not a hair, nor nail, nor faintest scent. All that was left was an empty house, with nothing left but our clothes scattered all over the floor, and a single note left on the top.
"When we find you, you will feel pain you never thought possible. And then, your body will be thrown in the ocean, and nobody will find you,
Sleep well, I'll see you soon"

Camille was the type to never listen to authority; she became the family delinquent. One morning, after having another argument with her parents and hooking up with a random John Doe in a bar, she came home to find her house completely empty. No furniture, no sounds, only her parents murdered on the stairs, with an odd symbol in black painted on the wall.
She was being threatened by a gang she had never heard of, apparently a witness to a crime she has no recollection of. She was drunk when it happened of course. Now, she's on the run, hitching any ride she can in order to meet up with her sister in New York. But fate has a funny way of working, and Camille -- probably going through the worst hangover in her life -- realizes that it's about time to face her fears in order to save herself, her sister, and her new friend.
