❃ MULTIPLE AWARD WINNER ❃ Born in Westfall to a poor family, violet-eyed Idira endures hunger, isolation and abuse at the hands of her cruel father until the dangerous kingpin of a criminal organisation rescues her. As she grows into womanhood, cocooned in wealth and surrounded by violence, she learns her unusual eyes are harbingers of a rare magic she possesses, as old as Azeroth itself, which connects her to a powerful, charismatic mage trapped on another planet. Despite being almost twice her age and separated by an impossible distance, Khadgar captures her heart, though she can only love him in silence. Later driven from Westfall by the arrival of the Legion's vicious demons, she learns of the magical city of Dalaran and of Khadgar's return. Desperate to harness the power she feels growing within her and to meet the man of her visions, she determines to travel to the floating city and learn how to become a mage. But once she arrives, her unusual violet eyes soon cause her to become the object of everyone's scorn--everyone's, that is, except for one. Khadgar. ❃ Awards: Winner. There used to be nine of THEM. The Nine Beings of Magic. They created the world as a gift to their father. There were four brothers who were all that was good and wholesome in creation. Then there four brothers that were all that was dark and evil in the world. For without good, there is no evil and without evil, there is no good. And they needed balance. So the eldest child and the only daughter of the great being was the balance. Soon the brothers all started losing faith in their father's love as well as their faith that humanity could ever be truly balanced. One by one the brothers gave their magic to their sister and left forever. They would never exist again. The sister took that burden as for her to die or leave would kill the Earth and the mortals she so dearly loved. So she created the ley lines to give the world magic. But the world was to never have this magic, so she started to drain the ley lines just enough and put the magic into items of grand importance. Excalibur, The Crowned Jewels, The Great Scepter of Nefertiti, amongst many others. There were those who abused the items and thus she created The Keepers to protect them. She created Protectors to protect the Keepers, and she created Guides to guide the Keepers. And The world for a while was in harmony... Until out of jealousy The Sisters Of Lilith sprang forth and are trying to destroy the magic of the artifacts so mortals can weld magic. Now She had to come back to train a set of baby Keepers, Protectors and Guides because the Sisters of Lilith have killed her chosen ones. But will she be able to train them in time before she has to make the choice to finally give up on the world she loves more than her father? Journey with The Keepers as they fight to save the world from not only The Sisters of Lilith but from the very magic of the ley lines and their creator.

Boy meets girl, girl falls in love, blah-blah-blah. Let me be clear with you from the beginning. This is not that kind of story. My name is Cait, and I live in the great city of New York. Okay, so maybe I've only lived here for a week and a half, sue me, but what else am I supposed to say? This strange and beautiful metropolis is my new home, or the closest thing I've probably ever had to a home, and I intend to make the most of my time here. I'm 20 years old, an ex-sophomore in college, and I'm really good at math. Obviously, I've never filled out any kind of bio before. This is my story. It's the kind of story where reality bites, love isn't always what it seems, and maybe - just maybe - everything won't suck in the end. #43 in General Fiction - 12/02/2016 #44 in Teen Fiction - 6/11/2017 _____ © Jandra Sutton. 2016.
