"Jessie, wait." He turns back around to look at me, his eyes hold something in them that I don't understand, "thank you for coming." I let go of his jacket as I speak, "It really means a lot to me, I -" I shake my head and mentally scold myself for saying anything. "Thank you." I breathe out and wrap my arms around myself, suddenly self-conscious under his gaze. He lightly touches under my chin, silently asking me to look at him and my breath catches in my throat when our eyes meet. "You don't have to thank me, Miriam." He whispers, giving me a smile that melts my brain to mush as he leans in closer to me. My eyes fall to his lips and my heart pounds against my chest, "but you do owe me lunch." His smile morphs into a wide smirk that reveals a set of dimples I didn't know existed. And I'm officially into dimples now.
