They were never supposed to be in the same room again much less the same campus.
She's a Black girl who grew up with just enough money to be comfortable but never enough to forget where she came from. Confident, stubborn, and grounded, she's the type who knows exactly who she is... and exactly who she can't stand.
And him?
He's her total opposite loud where she's calm, carefree where she's focused, infuriating where she's collected. They spent all of high school at each other's throats, convinced the universe kept them on opposite sides for a reason.
So why does the universe keep putting them in the same places now?
Every hallway, every café, every late-night study spot she turns around and there he is. Not on purpose, not planned... just there. And every time she complains, he deflects with that annoying smirk and some enemy-flirt comment about "opposites attracting."
They're not friends.
They're not anything.
At least, that's what they keep telling themselves.
But when two opposites keep colliding in a world far from where they started, the line between annoyance and attraction gets thin dangerously thin.
Because sometimes the person you hate the most ends up being the one complication you can't escape... and maybe don't want to.
