Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin have been born into a world of magic. They must participate in a ceremony that matches them with an animal familiar, but things don't go as expected. As they navigate the consequences of that botched ceremony, and try to accept their fate and their powerful new destiny, Scott and Mitch will also explore their feelings for each other, a whole separate kind of magic. not sure if I'll ever return to this story but feel free to read :) When Mitch joins University and is thrown into a flat with three boys that hate him, he thinks that nothing can make it better. Until a tall blonde greets him in the elevator - mysterious, perhaps dangerous, yet endearing. Scott Hoying impacts Mitch's life in a way he never thought was possible. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mitch Grassi..." He breathes, a smirk growing on his face, "nice to meet you." I take my card, a small blush emerging on my cheeks as Blondie stays stood opposite me, almost making me feel pressured to stay pinned up against the wall. The elevator doors ding open as the guy turns away from me, walking away with his head turned over his shoulder and his eyes still on me. "W-what's your name?" I stutter, pressing a button to keep the doors open. He turns towards me, walking backwards down the corridor of the second floor. "It was a mistake, Scott! Get that through your head!" Mitch Grassi, a blossoming art student at a college far from home, has trouble studying one night as the dorm a few doors down hosts a wild, loud, and distracting party. He finds himself going to shut it down, but ends up doing much more. After an accidental hookup, he tries to go on with his life, but he can't shake the man that can't seem to shake him. He has put up expert walls to avoid situations like these, but that man still wants to break them down, no matter how many times Mitch tells him that was happened was a mistake.

As Scott draws closer, he takes in the ostentatious fur coat, brilliantly white and fluffy, gathered around the person's shoulders. "This is the LAPD, turn around slowly," Scott says.

Mitch Grassi - better known as Lights by his housemates - meets face to face with death while trying to finish the war he'd started at the Hemingway's Home for Orphaned Boys. After losing four people in the short time he's been there, Lights will do whatever it takes to make sure no one else gets hurt, and in turn he will learn who to trust - and who not to.
