When I met him on a rainy afternoon, the sky was pink and blue. I was starving and almost craving to smell the stuffy scent of my closed up home's small living room. When I met him on a rainy afternoon, his son held my feet out of the blue and called me 'mum'. He rushed out of the restaurant only seconds later, his cheeks a pale flushed hue. When I met him one day on a rainy afternoon, he looked up into my eyes and apologized. John's never had a patient quite as broken as Sherlock Homes. Or as ignorant of the fact that he is, indeed, broken. He speaks rarely, and when he does it's this torrential flow of insults and hurt memories and sadness. He speaks like he doesn't know that he's broken yet, like he thinks he's fine, and superior to everyone else in the room. Maybe he is. John doesn't know. Maybe he's not as beautiful, and clever, and graceful as he believes. Maybe he isn't some kind of ethereal creature that John has had the honour of beholding. Maybe he's just broken. And useless. And alone. John doesn't think so. John thinks he's everything, broken man and all. * Sherlock's never done anything quite like dancing. When he was there, wood springing under his feet, soft and warm and secure, he was happy. Sure. But he didn't know then that he'd give anything to be able to dance again. To have the pain of crushed toes, blisters, aching and biting all the fucking time. He didn't know he'd miss it like he misses breathing. But he does. Sherlock forgets to breathe, sometimes.

When Sherlock is left alone, without a case, and without John, he falls back to old habits, habits John is yet to find out about. Sherlock falls into a put of self loathing and John is the only one who can pull him out.

"Come on babe." Evan insists. "Please? For me?" I look around, considering my options. The party has started to die down, and the small lake further into the woods is pretty concealed. "Fine." I sigh, grinning. "Really?" He smirks. "You'll skinny dip with me?" I pause. "Sure." "Great." He says. "I love you Harper." <><><><> Harper is your typical good girl. Shy, quiet, and reserved. So everybody is surprised when she manages to land a guy like Evan. Prom King, quarterback, ladies man. Evan introduces her to a new world, a world of popularity. And Harper tries to be the best girlfriend she can be. But one night, it all falls apart, and Harper is left in a mortifying situation. Naked. Luckily the River boys are around to save the day.
