"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."
- Mark Twain
All her life, Mari had been helping people. Through late night phone calls, midday dashes to apartments and the occasional lecture filled with colourful language directed to a person who needed a wakeup call. She knew what to say, do, act, to help a friend in need,
But the one thing she didn't know how to do was to help herself. Mari never expected one little accident to affect her so much. So much to the point where she didn't know who she was, sinking deeper into a dark and terrible whirlpool, only a little speck of a bigger ocean, never to return to the way she used to be.
She needed a life-saver, to be thrown wildly into the ocean, determined and resistant to the constant waves of negativity.
That life-saver was in the form of someone she would never have guessed to be.
