***As first published in my Peterick Oneshots book*** Patrick Stumph is a medieval European prince, the only heir in his royal family. Peachy, right? Apparently not in his book. This teenager has zero interest in becoming the next king after his father croaks. His royal life was seemingly already complicated, but an accidental meeting with a peasant from the lower class makes him feel no way he ever has before, and the distance between them leaves him wondering if their meeting was a miracle or a great mistake.

Patrick and Pete used to be best friends. That was until Patrick moved away. Patrick soon became the nerdy type, all because he never talked, didn't have many friends, and was known to get good grades. But Pete was almost the exact opposite, he's popular, and loud. (Spoiler alert: they get together. Ooooooo)

Patrick is a boy that is constantly bullied at his high school, he has no friends (except for Joe who's just a work friend) and he's lonely. Pete is a drug addict, surrounded by shitty people, and who think's he's pretty shitty too. When he sees Patrick he realizes that he isn't like the other guys at his school, he clearly likes Patrick. But Pete is suffering from abuse from his dad and himself, and all he can do is wonder: why would Patrick pay any attention to the emo kid who lives down the street? Why would Patrick ever pay any attention to Pete?

Of all the days of the week, Pete is scheduled to get married on a Monday. But the weekend before the big day, he meets a man who makes him want to reconsider.
