Four unmarked survivors. One totalitarian government. A fight to keep their humanity intact. 100 years into the future, the E-91 virus has thrust the world into chaos. For Rachel Wilson, survival hasn't come easy. For the last fifteen years, she's lived in the wilderness, just out of reach of the Council of Nations. Until one day, poachers--the section of law enforcement tasked with hunting the Unmarked--raid her home and she is forced to go on the run. Weary from the attack, but certainly not broken, she ventures into a dangerous world with only her fiery determination to survive. In what appears to be a stroke of good luck, she is rescued by an underground movement working towards bringing down the capital or die trying. Death over mark, that had always been the mantra. Because the alternative-becoming a mind-controlled soldier to fight the capital's war-was a fate worse than death. ***What other readers are saying about Marked*** "You've done a wonderful job of creating and molding this couple into real people. Now, they practically breathe!" -thebirdwhisperer "This is incredible! I was holding my breath for a second there because everything was so good and the action felt so rea!!!" -titanic123 "I rarely comment as I'm not very good with words. But I have to tell you I enjoyed your book so much. I cried and laughed, bit my nails and rooted the characters on as if they were my family." -leenafrog

All the earth is torn asunder. There used to be grass, and the sun used to be golden. Children played outside, climbing trees with smiles on their faces and grass stains on their knees. People worried about a million things that would soon be irrelevant, continuing without a clue of the disaster to come. Centuries later, what little is left of humanity survives in a society constructed beneath the surface of a glass dome, the world outside converted to little more than a desert wasteland. Survival is a routine rather than an effort, and all rules are surpassed by only one: if you want to survive, you never leave the dome. There's nothing alive out there. The radiation that soaks the earth makes sure of that. Until one day, someone finds a bloody, dust-covered handprint on the outside of the glass. Nothing will ever be the same again. My name is Violet Mercer. When I was about 4, I watched my parents die. A few weeks later, I was branded and shipped off with a bunch of other kids to my new fate, to train and learn for 10 years until I was sold to someone else as a slave. Brutal beginning? Yeah. But it's the truth. See, here's the thing. A few years back--maybe a little under 50--we humans did something stupid. It was part of an experiment called G42 by some genetics company that was trying to speed up evolution. What did they do? Well, they altered specific genetic strands to see if they could create a sort of super-human. Their answer? Yes. But there was a flaw in their plan. These new 'evolved' humans, or 'evos', were everything they could have hoped for--strong, and fast, and smart. Practically immortal, too, so what was the problem? They were born without emotions. Maybe this doesn't sound too bad to you, but our emotions? They're what make us human. What happened next was kinda inevitable: the Evos took over. There are two strands of DNA--get one, and your set for life. Get the other, good luck living to see past your sweet sixteen. And if you are one of the crazy (or brave, depending on who you ask) people who dares to bring a child into this world, you could give them the best, longest life ever, or doom them to an early death after a suckish life. So, yeah. Our world is screwed up. And we can't go to G42 for a solution, because as soon as the Evos realized the possibilities, they slaughtered everyone who might know something and blew up the facility. Now, dear reader, are you beginning to understand the use of emotions? This is my story. I still don't know how it ends, whether it was all for better or worse. But you're here. So go ahead and read. Maybe we'll both learn a little something. Welcome to my life. I hope you survive in this new world. By Earthstone #567 in Teen Fic on 6/17/2016

When Sarah Fenton is recruited out of her orphanage into a mysterious government program, she doesn’t realize she’s becoming a central figure in a three-way civil war. When Nick Lal receives a powerful brain implant for his birthday, he doesn’t realize it will make him a social outcast and enemy of the state. The world Sarah and Nick grew up in is transforming at catastrophic speed as neurally enhanced youths called Aeons rise to become global oligarchs. The Aeons quickly use their superior intellects and technology to dominate the world economy. Soon Sarah and Nick find their lives revolving around Laura Mayer, the charismatic and brilliant leader of the Aeons. But is Laura working to save humanity from self-assured destruction, as she maintains to Nick? Or is she a manipulative psychopath, as Sarah’s military handlers insist? The United States is torn three ways by a power struggle between the decrepit political institutions in Washington, the destabilizing technology of the Aeons, and a religious revolution in Texas. Soon, Nick and Sarah find themselves serving opposing factions. Will they be able to bridge the chasms of distrust that separate them and save the country from collapse? False Idols is the first novel in the Aeon science fiction trilogy by Alexis Grove.

"You're mine." I said, only inches away from her beautiful face. Her eyes. Her lips. I could not resist. "There's only you... Only you." My thumb caressed her cheek, marvelling at the softness of her skin. From under her dark nut-brown hair, peeked eyes of hazel and honey, edged with a deep forest-green. Held innocence, and fire that dwindled down to smoldering ember. I was warned about the threats in life, but never the ones with hazel eyes. I held her close, so close that I could feel her heartbeat against my chest. Her body- chiseled to perfection. Must she be so perfect? I couldn't stop myself from pulling her close to me and kissing her lips. At first, it was a delicate butterfly of a kiss, so faint, like a whisper. But, oh, it grew into so much more. Kissing her hungrily, my hands roamed all over her body. I wanted to kiss her lips, trace the curves, the lines and the twists they hid. I wanted to caress her body, cover with my hands every inch of her skin from head to toes, run my fingertips over her, and hear the melody of her laughter, and the symphony of her moans."More," I growled silently, still kissing on her bottom lip. "Give me more, Amelia." I kept kissing her, over and over again, each time harder than the last. The more love I give her, the more I have bursting inside me... Crazy, huh? "Dimitri" The silvery melody of her voice serenaded trough my heart as the air softly touched her lips when she whispered my name. My aesthetic senses came alive. I was once again struck by what she did to me, by her beauty. Her kisses, they lit my brain on fire, the warmth spreading throughout my entire body. After each one of them, I was more addicted. I couldn't bare not to be with her and I could barely breathe when she wasn't around. I, the Vampire Prince of Venedocia was swollen under the spell of this human. Amelia was my salvation and my torment. I lived for her and I would die with the memory of her in my arms. She was the half that made me whole.
