(Prologue of Save me from myself) **Trigger warning** Calliope Haile is a 14 year old girl who is put into a situation that no child should ever be put in. Her mother is the most atrocious woman, and she is stuck in the same house as her. She is forced into being beaten and tortured then verbally abused on top of that just so her mother won't hurt her little sister. Cali acts brave strong, but in the end, her acting just isn't enough to save her from the darkness that's consuming her and her life.

They're called Skels. Short for skelemorphic, which means they can change what they look like by moving their bones, therefore changing their shape. It sounds nasty, I know. It doesn't even sound remotely believable, which is what I thought when I was told what they were. "What? The world is being taken over by things that can move their bones without breaking the skin? Where are we, some weird fantasy novel?". It took me awhile to grasp the concept.         But that wasn't the only thing. There was this other branch. Other Skels that went wrong, I guess. The bad eggs. The ones who didn't turn out too right. I don't exactly know what their proper name is, but I just call them the Halflings, because that's kind of what they are. Half Skel, half something else. I'm not saying that they are worst than the Skels or anything, but when Thursday comes and we have to choose between fighting Skels or fighting Halflings, I'd pick the Skels.

"It all began in a blanketing fog, between a young boy and a strange dog." There is something strange about Alex's new school. Something really wrong with it's students. They whisper about him, make fun of him, and harass him before they ever try to get to know him. Everyone except the Tea Drinkers, that is. They welcome young, naive Alex with open arms. They take him in when everyone else avoided him like the plague. But something seems wrong with them, too. They are almost too nice. Too accepting. And they keep making these strange demands while their tea leaves poor Alex weak, dizzy, and confused. Then there's the strange dog that keeps stalking him--smiling at him like it knows something he doesn't. It comes coupled with a fog that descends into Alex's life, blinding him and stealing away the students around him. Little does Alex know, these people, creatures, and events are all connected -- all working with and against one another. Vying for control and dominance through any means necessary. And, little does Alex know, they all want a piece of him. ... (Rated M for Language) [COMPLETED]

2016 WATTY AWARD WINNER - HQ LOVE THE TERM SHEET is a fast-paced technothriller about entrepreneurship, startups, encryption, and the delicate balance between national security and individual privacy. Its complex characters explore thought-provoking questions about the role of technology in an ever-changing society. Step into the high-stakes game played by today's technology innovators, who push the envelope and risk it all. Get ready, this thrilling book gives you a taste of what startups are really like. _____________________________________________________ David Alexander, a young programmer in Portland, Oregon, loathed his job. Computer programming had always come naturally, but being an employee never suited him. So he tried entrepreneurship instead. After making a series of embarrassing blunders, David finally hit on a startup idea that stuck: encrypted chat. Sure there were alternatives, but as Edward Snowden has shown us, most of them (willingly or unwillingly) have backdoors for spies and bad guys. A new approach made David's app one of the most secure options out there, which caught the attention of many people, including Shawn Douglas from the Secret Service. Shawn Douglas worked with eight different presidents, preventing twenty assassination attempts, forty-three terrorist plots and two bullets. When he was promoted to a desk job overseeing and organizing travel, he picked up on a cryptic email thread that hinted at a threat to the President's life. In a race to unravel the conspiracy, Shawn and David both have to make some difficult decisions. Will Shawn stop the terrorists in time? Will David be able to navigate his startup out of a crisis and keep his entrepreneurial dream alive? Or will fate deal them both a crushing hand? Read the book to find out.
