I've struggled with body image issues since middle school, and during my freshman year of college I developed a pretty severe eating disorder. I lived in denial for months by telling myself that it was "nothing serious," just something I was doing to make myself feel special, or for the sake of having a dramatic secret. By participating in this campaign by the new Netflix series "To the Bone," I'm honored to share how I came to terms with my mental illness for what it really was, and I hope to reach girls who might be telling themselves something similar.

❝What's so great about sanity? I don't see you having any fun.❞ When asked to define insanity, a great majority of the Eichen House staff would direct the questioner to a petite brunette by the name of Lita Mitchell. In a building comprised of clinically insane people, too dangerous to roam freely within society, the self-proclaimed lost cause was highlighted like no other. A cold blooded killer like many others, her abnormality came in the form of her mind; her incapability to feel guilt of any form. Logically- she would be locked up in the closed unit, safe & sound in her own complimentary straight jacket. But within the illogical & frequently violent walls of Eichen House, everyone knew that wasn't about to happen any time soon. Crazy had yet to be proven contagious, therefore they saw no reason to isolate her- or prevent her from befriending their newest resident. An insomniac with terrifying hallucinations, he seemed innocent enough; surely no harm could result from allowing him to befriend the notorious Lita Mitchell. Then again, they hadn't met the demon in his head. [season 3B] © 2015 // Aly aka @insatiabIe

FORMERLY KNOWN AS IMPOSSIBLE "The definition of innocence lies with whom you're speaking to. Most use the term meaning sex, others for a more vast amount of physical things, few with psychological matters, and some even pair it with naive. I, however, believe that someone who has full innocence doesn't know what it's like to have great power." *tw: drug abuse, sexual content, violence, depression, self-harm, abuse, suicide, rape, etc *will contain johnlock, johnwald, oslock, and adwald (although not all strictly romantic) *this story will be split into two parts: "enigma" and "clandestine"
