Far away in a world cradled by fire, humanity has been snuffed out. Gronfær Yon is one of the last of his kind and he has no idea. His mother is a magic wielding marcana able to bend the world to her whims if she so wishes and Gronfaer wants to be just like her. His younger sister is the strongest person he knows who is devoted to their family but is not without her own secrets. His father disappeared when he was young. Gronfaer watched him vanish from the edge of their world. With new found power, Gronfaer will leave his home to enter the wider world before him. He does not know what awaits him nor how much change his coming will bring, but he has an idea of what he wants and that is enough.

Panja is the name of their land. Mother Nature grew tired of humans abusing her with their new technology and advancements. In a way to punish them for their actions she caused catastrophic events to unify them. What she caused instead was much worse, allowing corruption to seep into their minds. The remaining humans have formed nine factions in which are all that holds the world in balance. Sorian, Aurelie, and Dawne must find the others before it is to late.
