It's a sunny day, perfect to be tanning on the beach. Your excitement grows as you step out of the car and see the sea, it's waves hitting shore with the relaxing sound it makes.
You run over to the beach barefoot, already got rid of your flip flops on the way there. You take in every moment of it, feeling the sand between your toes, closing your eyes and just about to inhale deeply to smell the fresh air the sea lingers.
When a cough interrupts your moment, you dart your eyes open, thinking the voice came from your annoying brother, and look around. It wasn't him.
The coughing becomes more, gulping sounds interrupting it. You take a closer look around you, and shriek.
There lies a girl on the sand, drenched and whole body shivering. Water streaming out of her mouth.
Your heart starts beating faster as you walk up to her, just as you think she is going to stand up, her head falls back again on the ground.
Unconscious.
You run up to her and start shaking her wildly, desperate for a reaction.
But she doesn't react.
And when you notice her whole neck covered in blood which is streaming from the hole in the back of her head, you start to scream.
But..
What if you weren't the one that found her, but the one laying there?
What if you thought you had died, but wake up in a hospital bed, head and lungs aching unbearably?
What if you couldn't remember anything? Didn't even know your own name?
"Here's what I would do." I say.
Follow "I" in "The Day I Lost Myself" as she tries to figure out who she is, but an unexpecting source helping her more than she could ever imagine.
