"That is not danger," said he. "It is inevitable destruction. You stand in the way not merely of an individual, but of a mighty organisation, the full extent of which you, with all your cleverness, have been unable to realise. You must stand clear, Mr. Holmes, or be trodden underfoot." ~James Moriarty, The Final Problem.

"My, my, love. Are you sure you want to leave such a cruel world behind?" Far beyond the horizon, clouds gathered-throbbing, budding, menacing. Time was slipping through their fingers. "What can be worse than this?" A slow, wicked smile split his face in two. Oh how delightfully wild he looked! So wild, so dangerous. He stretched out a hand. She took it without hesitation. And that, dear friends, is how she dug her own grave. #book1 in the cursed artefact's series This is a Rewrite of Demetre!

'Doomed sleep until the time When it is right to awaken Unaware of the mountain she must climb Her past, present, and future forced to be forsaken, The maiden sleeps, unwilling to stir Until the loud, blaring horn, causing the ground to be shaken, Raises her from the dead, and into action she is spurred.' When a young girl wakes up in the middle of a forest in the company of a strange, hooded figure who claims to be her guide, she is unaware of what to do. She cannot recall how she got there, why she might be there, or even what her own name is. Unsure and afraid, she must force herself to trust the unusual man to lead her across Middle Earth to Lothlórien, where it is said that the lady Galadriel can give her answers about her identity and her purpose, which could very well change the course of her world's history. My following words of yore and spite may shock you to the very core. They acknowledge a fact known to few, and even less, known to heart. But please, by the whim of mind and patience of soul, I beseech you to listen all the clear. Tolkien's tale of Middle Earth has fallen from its original translation. His story of Thorin Oakenshield's company once bore truth, but fate was reconstructed in light of a prophecy: The girl born of flame, fostered by the dwarves, royal in her name, and her child's birth. She is the one and only protector of Middle Earth, guardian over Mordor, savior of our royal dwarf. Her knowledge will be countered by family's unknown survival, though fate will turn it right as in sacrifice of her royal line. It isn't just a story, but the Valar's greatest mistake; let the heavens toll loud to save Durin's sons After the war of the ring and the destruction of Sauron, the Valar decided to repeat the past, starting at the union of the company within a small hobbit hole in the typically quiet Shire. Why, you may ask, did they decide to do this? Originally, the Valar had ignored the prophecy stated above (as they had done in the past), allowing the Durin line to be exterminated by the Pale Orc, Azog. However, the reign of Dain and his heirs as they took Erebor's throne turned out to be heartless and cruel, unlike the intended fate of Erebor foretold. Therefore, the Valar decided to turn back the clock, 60 years, giving Gandalf the idea to invite the "girl of fire" to the meeting in Hobbiton. Indeed, this did bring about the intended fate of the Lonely Mountain as well as infinite happiness to the company of heroic dwarves. This is her story, as she sacrificed her line in saving Durin.
