By using breath and drawing upon the color in everyday objects, all manner of miracles and mischief can be accomplished. It will take considerable quantities of each to resolve all the challenges facing Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris; Susebron the God King; Lightsong, reluctant god of bravery, and mysterious Vasher, the Warbreaker.

Alan Carlisle, 15, lives on the world's first inhabitable artificial island, New Island, Michigan. Alan doesn't know his father was killed due to his discovery of a gateway to the Otherworld. A forgotten world, the Otherworld was a place of refuge for the old Celtic gods, the Tuatha De Danann. The Otherworld isn't the only Celtic world that has been forgotten.
