*this story was written by Gibslythe on ao3* "Two whole months of free laundry in exchange for two weeks of being my fake boyfriend. Deal?" Keith hesitated for a moment. Was this really worth it? Hardly. Lance was an asshole, and he wasn't sure what fake dating would entail. But, free laundry was free laundry, right? "Alright, it's a deal." Or: Lance makes the mistake of telling his Mom he has a boyfriend coming home with him for Christmas. Keith makes the mistake of agreeing to be Lance's 'fake boyfriend'. This is actually the best fic I've ever read. It emotionally destroyed me and then put me back together only to kill me again. Read on ao3 : http://archiveofourown.org/works/7454385

Keith chuckles softly at Lance's faded face in the old photo. He was still a little chubby, couldn't be more than eleven years old, but nevertheless had his arms slung over the shoulders of two pretty, giggling girls. The smug grin on his face is dazzling. Keith wonders how Lance, to this day, manages to make it look so believable. -- Or, Lance and Keith have been best friends since first grade. Lance's brain is always on overdrive and Keith's blunt, realistic ass can never keep up. They both come to realize that sometimes you can learn a lot about loving yourself by loving someone else. ---- I did not make this fanfic, a lovely writer on archiveofourown did, and the user is klancekorner. Set after Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Bucky is lost, without a purpose and brainwashed within an inch of his life. S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra have both fallen and without anyone to stop him, Bucky intends to find out who he is - or who he was - before Hydra took away every last inch of him. Steve is left recovering from the catastrophe, but knows that Bucky is still out there, and that Bucky needs his help. Steve will do everything in his power to help his best friend find out who he is again. How far would you go to help your friend recover their mind? How long would you try for? Steve knows it isn't going to be easy, and wants to set Bucky on the road to recovery; but confusion and nostalgia hides around every corner. If Bucky is to find himself once again, Steve is going to have to face some hard truths about how he lost his friend and see him through every step of the way as he recovers, seeing him through the good times, and the bad. They might soon realise that the question "Who am I?" carries so much more than a name and a face.
