"You will find a use for this some day," the blacksmith had said to his son, gesturing around to the many tools needed for his profession. "Promise me that some day you will complete my most prized project, if I do not get the chance to." The son had promised. Many years later, when the blacksmith had given up his profession to marry the woman of his dreams, the son turned 23. His promise drove him to learning the ways of a blacksmith, despite his father having given up, and he finds that he has a talent for it. On his birthday, the father attempted to re-use the forge; why is unknown to any living person, because the forge grew temperamental and a fire engulfed the old shop, taking the father's life along with it. The son is only brought out of his grief by the shocking, sudden appearance of an injured woman, whom he must take care of. It is uncertain if she will live; the only thing they know is that she refuses to speak, and has two mysterious gashes on her back. -- Second book in the Seraphine series, after Inheritance, is now public. It is titled 'The Legacy'. Thanks for reading wonderful people~

Alana, the only Fallen Angel to rise on new wings, had left the one she loved, bound by the ways of the Seraph to never stay in love- what kind of Angel would be so selfish as to do such a thing? But upon her return to the immortal vanity of the other Seraphs, Alana finds that she is still shunned as a Fallen One, despite her new, far more glorious wings. And so she is condemned to be a guardian; a seemingly noble role to a human, but a lowly, almost peasant- worthy station to the Seraphs, who would rather remain far from the filthy curse that they see humanity as rather than guard it. What will Alana do when the Seraphs decide that the filth should be removed from Earth, going against the very fiber of their angelic birth rights? Be a guardian of course.
