Instead of getting to choose your own future partner in life, they have already been chosen for you, or at least that's the way it is in my society. I wouldn't say they've been chosen for you but you've been, I guess, marked to be together. That's right. For all you know, you could end up with a complete asshole and have no choice other than to marry them. That's the current situation I'm in.
