(Currently rewriting because wow this 2 year old story was poorly written and I refuse to post the last few chapters until it's fixed)
Everyone thinks Klaus is a monster; an animal that can't be tamed. But believe it or not, there is a way to get through to him, it's just buried deep inside where no one can reach.
Before Klaus became an immortal hybrid, he was in love in love with a werewolf girl. Since Klaus' father, Mikael, hated the wolves they had to keep it a secret and sneak around where no one could see them. Klaus' mother, Esther, was the only one that knew about them, however his siblings also had their suspicions. When Esther wanted to turn her children into immortal beings, now known as vampires, Klaus pleaded for her to change the girl he loved as well. After objecting at first, she soon agreed.
When they both triggered the curse that kept their werewolf sides at bay, they became Hybrids. That was when Mikael found out. He was so furious that he went to take it out on Klaus when he realized, the only way to truly hurt Klaus was to kill the girl he loved. So he burnt her at the stake in front of him while she was still at the weakest stage of her transformation.
Esther had created a spell to conceal their wolf side and when they knew they needed to run to protect themselves, girl was struggling for life. Klaus refused to leave her and cried over her body until Esther convince him to 'flick the switch' and turn off his humanity. The moment he did, he no longer cared about anyone or anything. So, he turned away and left her to die.
It's been a thousand years since Klaus abandoned the girl and left her for dead. She's been following him ever since, making sure he was safe. He may have given up on her but there is no way she was giving up on him.
