[Sequel to 'Renegade'] Successfully routing a potential Chaos invasion and a Genestealer takeover of the Shrine World of Cosperan, Caius once again turns his attention to Hepharion and pursues him off planet. Surprisingly aided by the fallen Faustinius, their key to unlocking the entirety of Project Apocalypsis Dominus lies in a sealed data cache, and it is a race against time to unseal it before Hepharion does so with the cache that he himself is in possession of. Armed with a location - the planet of Novrasa - the Astartes of the Twentieth, Deathwatch Squad Ostentia, and the few survivors of the Cosperan Crusade set off for its sister, the paradise world of Orphis, to begin a plan to get to the uninhabited ghost planet. With a newly refreshed Bahad as their psyker, they feel on equal footing with Hepharion for the first time.
