He was in an uprising rock band with his best friends, Zero, Mitch, Sam, and his younger brother, Paxton, called "Isles of Lucy". His mom passed away of cancer when he was sixteen, leaving him to take care of his brother while his aging father worked hours and hours. Now, at the age of nineteen, Max Reed lives in Manhattan with his brother and his bandmates. When everything is going just about right, Max and Paxton get a call that could change their lives forever and sends Max spiraling into a deep depression. He soon meets the cliched tall, dark, and mysterious, Aiden Black, who happens to be in one of the rivaling bands. Will death and depression tear the boys apart? Or will it only mend them together, making them stronger as musicians and human beings...? And why does Max keep having these odd dreams about Aiden, feeling like he...remembers...him when he hasn't ever met him before...? “Angel of Death, my ass.” “I'm not forcing you to believe me, but get it into your thick skull that you're not in your world now. Here is a different one; the Underworld if I may, but really, after time, titles became less significant. All except to the main man, of course, Lord Lucifer.” If I heard him right before, he said he would offer me to his Lord as a present. Then, he referred a name Lucifer as his Lord. He mentioned the Underworld, and if I was remembering the Bible right… No. No, no, no. I knew what I did was a sin, and that I deserved to go to Hell. I jumped off a cliff to see and be with Flinn again, not please some guy who defied God and… “Wait,” I said, pulling Ciel to a stop. He looked at me impatiently, and I barely recognized we were now in some unreasonably long staircase that seemed to endlessly go down, only lit with glowing red stones on the corners of each step. “You said Lucifer; the Fallen Angel? As in… Satan?” “The one and only.”

I ran after him, my vision getting blurry as my tears began to flow. He kept banging on the back window of the car, shouting things I couldn’t get because it was too muffled. I could see his eyes wide with fear and worry, and it made me cry more. But, because I was not born for running, it didn’t take too long for me to get tired. Kai quickly noticed that, the same time I saw those tears that gleamed at the corner of his eyes. “Kai! Don’t leave me! Kai!” I yelled, sobbed as my legs refused to move faster. “KAI, PLEASE! COME BACK! KAI!” For some reason, I knew that that would be the last time I would see him, so I willed myself to continue running even if it would kill me. When I saw him shifting away from the window, I almost lost hope, thinking that he listened to his parents and would really stop befriending me. But then I saw him again. He moved so fast and swift that he managed to open a side window before his parents could stop him. “Please don’t cry, princess! I will come back and find you!” His parents tried again to remove him from the window, but he almost hugged the edges for dear life just so they couldn’t. “YOU HAVE TO PROMISE YOU WILL WAIT FOR ME, RILEY!” “I promise!” A sob escaped from the back of my throat, so I gulped the huge lump that formed in it, and shouted with all the energy left in me, “I WILL WAIT FOR YOU! KELLAN, I PROMISE!” With that, we both stopped. I stopped running; he stopped struggling. And, before his parents could completely close the car window, he threw something at me that almost made me laugh. A candy.

In the heart of a forest, a mansion tested over time could be found. Long ago, it was said that a Prince had resided there, together with his ten loyal servants. History had it, that after winning a combat against his kingdom’s greatest enemy, he fell into a deep slumber. His servants waited, waited and waited, for the day to come that he would rise again. They waited for months, years, decades and centuries, until they had lost count. It came to the point that they hadn’t left their master’s room at all, until they fell out of consciousness and followed him to wherever he was. Thousands and thousands of years had gone by. Yet again, the Prince and his servants’ story had passed on to every generation. The mansion was locked from the inside by an unknown force, not letting anyone invade the territory. But it was believed that if one got near and listened intently… Voices could be heard. Laughter and joyous conversations echoed. Shadows were marked. Sets of eyes were seeing. Watching. Observing. Waiting.
