A storm of biblical proportions hit the western United States. In its centre, the small town of Springbrook was flooding, residents forced to evacuate to a local landmark: the dark and towering Castle Moore. In the chapel behind, lay the body of a fallen angel. Trapped in his own mind, the angel was jerked from his cycle of pain by a teenaged boy looking for his father. His memories hurt, and he was unsure of so much, but there was one thing he knew for certain. The harsh winds, and pounding rain were only the surface of the storm that was upon them. A war was coming: in hell, in heaven, and on earth, with the castle in the centre of it all. For its walls protected something, something the armies of hell would do anything to possess, and something that called to the angel-like a lost brother. Unbeknown to Nikki, her next delivery will offer her two choices; deliver the package and die or flee and be forever hunted by demons. On a routine delivery, Nikki meets a handsome stranger in the wrong part of town. After this brief encounter, she finds herself thrust into a bloodthirsty, apocalyptic war that has been raging, unseen, around mankind for centuries. Devoid of an escape route she must learn to survive with the help of her demon slaying Guardian, Josh, and his band of unearthly cohorts. However, Nikki soon finds herself plagued by doubt as her Guardian refuses to answer any of her questions. Discovering her ability to produce fire only makes the situation worse as she finds herself unable to quench the overwhelming fury that comes with it. Leaning on Josh for support, Nikki's attachment to him grows but so does her suspicion and resentment. Realising that Josh is the cause of her inability to control her deadly weapon Nikki is left with little choice but to leave him. Out on her own, she must confront her darkest fear, not the demons that hunt her but the ones within. Faced with this choice, Nikki must either accept who she is and join those who oppose Josh, or fight that which attempts to consume her and risk the lives of the man she loves and all who stand with him.

This is my day wondering around London, writing a short story for the Once Upon A Deadline event at Nibfest! Read about my little adventure and how I thought of the story.

Devon Barnes and her best friend, Dante Granger, have just finished University and move into the third story flat in a gorgeous, newly renovated town house. The excitement of her first place soon wears off for Devon as she notices some strange things happening in the flat. Dante brushes it off as stress from the move and Devon’s new job, so she finds herself trying to work out what is happening alone. With only a two initials scribbled on a piece of paper, she sets out to find who ZJ and SM are. None of the neighbours seem to want to discuss the previous tenants, but when Devon overhears them gossiping about ‘poor Spencer Morgan’ she is halfway to discovering what is going on. Things take an unexpected turn as Dante starts to notice Devon acting out of character, and he is forced to face the truth – something out of the ordinary really is going on.

After escaping from police custody, Clover tries to piece his life back together. Determined to return to home and be reunited with his family, he has to first elude the country wide man hunt. Will he be able to resist his old ways in order to remain undetected? After hearing that Colin has escaped, Summer and Becca prepare themselves for the inevitable; Clover is coming back for them. Will the police and their families be enough to protect them? Clover's coming back and he's determined to prove to the girls; 'You'll always be mine'.
