Magic caused the war. Magic is forbidden. Magic will save us. The Relic Guild is the award nominated first book in The Relic Guild trilogy. It was said the Labyrinth had once been the great meeting place, a sprawling city at the heart of an endless maze where a million humans hosted the Houses of the Aelfir. But when the Thaumaturgists, overlords of human and Aelfir alike, went to war, everything was ruined and the Labyrinth became an abandoned prison. The surviving humans were trapped behind boundary walls a hundred feet high, and all magic was forbidden. And now the war is returning. The Relic Guild are all that stand against the end of the city. But they are old, scattered and weak, and the enemy is growing in strength... Here in THE RELIC GUILD (and other stories) please enjoy a large chunk of The Relic Guild Trilogy (published with kind permission of my publisher Gollancz), complete short stories, the odd poem, one or two blog posts, and samples chapters from my other novels.

Dive into the saga of Maximus, a valiant seeker of adventure in the age-old realm of Eternium. Here, enchantments run wild, beckoning him on a quest that dances with destiny. Yet, whispers of anachronism haunt his steps, suggesting that this world of sword and sorcery is but a shadow of a more complex reality. As Maximus confronts the arcane and the unknown, he will stumble upon the cusp of two eras-a collision of medieval myth and a future unfathomable. A revelation awaits that will challenge the very essence of time and existence. Will Maximus embrace the odyssey that spans beyond the stars, or will the ancient rhythms of Eternium hold him captive in a symphony of simulated echoes?

Once upon a time, thousands of years ago, men and fae lived side by side. These were often dark times, as men had little means to defend themselves from the powerful creatures capable of destroying villages in mere seconds. Through bloody battle and tough negotiations with the High Faerie nobility, an agreement of sorts had been reached: A Treaty. Men on the southern half of the continent, Faeries on the top half. Plain and simple... Until it isn't. Ella Blackwell has duties. Insurmountable, crushing duties. As the Duke's daughter, she's been born and raised to accomplish what all women in Rhothomir's high society are meant to do-marry well, secure an alliance, and bear the perfect heirs to continue traditions. Except, Ella's not really the perfect blue-blooded aristocrat she's expected to be. In the midst of rising political tensions between the Kingdom of Rhothomir and Fae Realm, and a blooming war, Ella finds her life completely upended from one moment to the next, ripped away from everything she's ever known. Follow along for a High Fantasy adventure full of Faerie royalty, courtly intrigue, backstabbing nobles, political schemes, steel-strong friendship and love.

❖ QUEENKILLER, KINGMAKER Book 1 ❖ Feudal Southeast-Asia filled with magic, daemons, and a royal conspiracy. This is Isla's quest for the truth, and her slow spiral into becoming her very own worst nightmare. When the gods ascended thousands of years ago, they left behind the divine gift of theurgy. Its powers still echo amongst men, but run fiercer yet in the blood of kings and queens. And one of them will stop at nothing before Isla is dead. A betrayal lures her out of refuge and into her journey home, where she must unmask her enemies before they unmask her. The theurgy that she has had to keep hidden for many years can be her greatest ally or her most lethal foil. Only her wits can guide her through the dangerous politics of the Surikh court. But amidst the plots and schemes bubbling around her, she uncovers something far more sinister than the identity of her enemies. Something that can change her entire life; indeed, entire kingdoms. ↝ this work contains violence, profanity, and sexual references ↜ ↝ Winner of Wattys 2016 HQ Love Award ↝ Winner of FANTASCI's first season Chosen One awards ↝ Winner of The Cryptic Awards 2018 ↝ Featured in Fantasy as of 18-01-2017 ↝ Wattpad Editor's Pick January 2021

In a Futurist-Victorian London, Ex-Carnie Victor Hart makes his living as a dinner party entertainer and mountebank, using the skills taught to him by his Romani mother – the Patterns. When tragedy strikes a wealthy friend, Victor Hart puts his skills to use in an alternative manner. This Steampunk London has its fair share of psychos, sickos, and sadists, and it takes a special kind of mind to hunt them. Victor sees human behaviour in a way few others can understand but only as an outsider; certain parts of his humanity are missing and that disturbs him. As he solves each seemingly unrelated case, a dark pattern slowly begins to reveal itself threatening the heart of the British Empire and even what we feel makes us human. A Steampunk-detective-noir, darker than most, the first volume features four thrilling cases; the first novel in a Duology.

An intimate fantasy tale, told in the stylings of an epic Asian drama, inspired by sweeping Chinese tragic story-telling, and dressed in a fictional fusion of Far Eastern mysticism and elements of steam culture. Turn the silk veil on a world forbidden from common eyes where children sail airships across the sky, a young emperor faces the tattered remains of his empire, a warlord stands on the brink of total conquest, and a gifted young boy embarks on a remarkable odyssey of triumph and sacrifice. Terr hardly knew the incredible future that awaited him when, for the first time, he laid his eyes upon the ether, a mysterious force visible only to a special group of children who are endowed with the divine ability to levitate airships and change the very will of the sky itself. Like all those who shared in his supernatural talents, he would be thrust into a secret world steeped in oriental traditions, be revered by monks and priests, sold by eager merchants, and abused by a rebellious military, lead by an ambitious warlord that would seek to unite all under heaven. In his sadly fallible, yet all-too-human journey, he would face the corruption of the Imperial Courts, be thrown into banishment as the servant of an exiled son of the Imperial Family, and eventually suffer the terrible horrors of a world war, which threatens to end all he holds dear. But as Terr and his dying country careen into the depths of a world torn by vengeance and prejudice, he would come to discover that even a humble child of the sky can still change the course of fate. An ancient evil, a forgotten blade, a glorious tale. Long ago, the Dark Ones, the Obscurum, were defeated by the god Dominus and the Eternals, soldiers of his Army of Light. Dominus defeated their armies, and banished the survivors to the prison of Fire and Darkness, the Tenebris. But one fateful night, an army of orcs besieges the city of Aequalis, bringing dark tidings with their arrival: the Dark Ones have returned. Soon, Peter, son of Lysander, the last descendant of the Eternals, is called to leave the world he knows, the familiar peaks of the Aequalisian Valley, the rolling hills of the Great Plains, the crashing waves of the Nahrung River, and journey out into the unknown. Peter's journey will take him from the magical Sage's Forest, shrouded in mystery, to the soaring, treacherous peaks of the Frigid Mountains, to the great Northern City of Diophantus, to Malumterra, home of the orcs. He will face countless adversaries, monsters of darkness, the most feared beasts of the land. But ultimately, he will have to face an even mightier foe, the foe within him, who, at every moment of his quest, threatens to turn him from what is right and just. The armies of Malumterra are rising. Will Peter be able to quell the beast that lies in the dark shadows of Orbis, or will the land be consumed by the hand of the Dark Ones?
