Veronica Cruz has been through hell and back. After disconnecting with the world two years ago to be at the side of her dying mother, she's left alone, unemployed, overweight, and feeling a decade older than her twenty-eight years. When her best friend coaxes her into joining the local gym to ditch her depression and rejuvenate her life, she meets Noah. Assigned to help Veronica lose weight, Noah is everything she expected a young trainer to be-perfectly chiseled, supportive and motivating. Add to that, he's incredibly sexy. He's everything she's ever looked for in a man. What she least expected was for him to fall for her, but he has. There's just one glaring problem: Noah is eight years younger. Noah Quintanilla has his eye on a boxing title-someday. Down for a few months with an injury, his maintenance-boy pay at 5th Street Gym won't cut it. He's finally given the opportunity to train. The catch? His trainee is an out-of-shape woman with a free week pass. Taking on the challenge, Noah stumbles into one of the closest friendships he's ever known, and before he knows it, he's in love. But Veronica's not having it-the age difference is too much. Their platonic relationship means having to watch her date other men-something that would make him crazy. Believing he's the man for her, Noah sets out to prove that age is but an illusion, and there's more to him than just a number. -you do not need to watch Grey's Anatomy to read- "With my last breath, I'll exhale my love for you. I hope it's a cold day, so you can see what you meant to me." I came into this world decades ago with a loud crash. Literally, I popped out amidst a car crash. Most would agree that I've been loud ever since. Every movement erratic and spontaneous. This often made my life swirl out of control. I became a resident surgeon, neonatal was my speciality. That was, until I lost my job to perform in bars with my band. And, surprise surprise, I kind of hated it. Anyhow, now here I am, ambulance lights dancing about like a discotheque and I am finally calm. My blood pressure became that of a normal human being. I am still as hospital carts are wheeled this way and that. The ugly fluorescent lights of the hospital dimming. I am finally whole.

"I don't get it." He shook his head at me, his frustration clear in his eyes. "Why can't you just let yourself be happy, for once?" "What makes you think I'm not happy?" I crossed my arms over my chest, my eyes narrowing into slits as I met his gaze, refusing to back down. "Maybe the fact that you're always fighting with me?!" He gestured between us, as if this moment were all the proof he needed. "You really don't get it." I scoffed. "Don't worry when I fight with you, worry when I stop because that means there's nothing left for us to fight for." *~*~*~* Bethany Watley has never had a easy life, but she has never let it stop her from fighting for what she wants. She didn't let it stop her from getting a surgical internship at Seattle Grace Hospital and she's not planning on letting it get in the way of her becoming the best surgeon she can be. Though, even with her dreams laid out clear in her mind, she could never have expected the drama that Seattle has in store for her. [Seasons 1-6] [Book One in the Stitches duology]
